We are pleased to introduce the EthiQal Recognition Programme, a first-of-its kind initiative designed to acknowledge professional activities that underpin sound practice management and high-quality patient care and which allows you to earn a refund of up to 15% of annual premium per year.
The Programme recognises participation in approved medico-legal and practice-based activities through a points system, where points convert into premium refunds over rolling 3-year periods.
Who can participate
The Programme is available to specialist doctors who are insured by EthiQal and who are in active private practice. Participation is free and voluntary and requires participants’ consent and active enrolment.
Once enrolled, participants may earn points through submitting proof of qualifying activities for a defined period.

Points earned and their associated Rand value will be reported to you twice annually and converted to payouts, the first being at 6 months and then every 3 years thereafter. Point collection, points to Rand conversion and payout are subject to Programme rules. Key points to note:
- Points only accrue from the date of enrolment
- Point allocation may be subject to verification of activity
- Final payouts are determined by points earned, Rand conversion factors, as well as annual premium, with pay-outs capped at 15% of annual premium per year
- Benefits are payable only to active policyholders at the relevant payout date
- Payouts may be donated to a charity, if preferred, in this instance Operation Healing Hands
